It is Finished
Easter Week 6of7
“It is finished”
“Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:28-30 NIV Have you ever truly contemplated what it’s like when something is finished. I mean finished completely. It’s done! That’s what happened on the cross. Our payment for sin was completed. Will we live like that? Twice in these three verses Jesus says it’s finished. Scripture is now fulfilled. Reflect and pray on this. The opportunity for salvation is real and now because the work was truly finished.
Friday and Saturday are tough….. Sundays coming!
